Good Guys,
David Gambill was aboard Providence in 1966-67 and later joined
the Army Reserves. He was called back to combat because of his
expertise in Helocopters as a refueler . The lives of many were
changed by the attack on our Country on September 11, 2001.
We wish to thank Dave Gambill and the WARHAWK crew
for their patriotic service and gesture. They have presented the
Providence Association with an American Flag that flew over Iraq
in 7 June 2005.
The links below include photos of the Certificate
accompaning the American Flag presented to the Providence Association....the
five person crew that man their Black Hawk Helocopter..unbelievable
sandstorm photos...and a few photos from his time aboard Providence.

His wife Sandra writes,
"I have been looking for old photos from the
USS Providence in the hope that maybe some of the guys would recognize
Dave and would like to contact him...Like in the Good Old Days,
Letters from home is still like Christmas! He still talks in Navy
terminology.
January 1, 2006
Bill Price reports that Dave is now back on American soil.
Welcome home.....
