Hi Sam:

I think the quickest method is for me to send you the email from Richard @ Providence which follows:

The event took place at the Russian Submarine Museum on the dock in Providence and was a retrospective of all the "USS PROVIDENCES".

It began with John Paul Jones -the first ship, a sloop. I referred to it in a presentation and then spoke of the CL82 and CLG6 and the actions of these ships in the wars since 1945. The importance of the friendships with the citizens of the city was outlined, including the many gifts that we received. The present Mayor of the city was present and commented on the pride they have for the Naval Vessels. After this the skipper of the new submarine named for Providence spoke including the activity recently in the Iraq invasion.

I have spared you too much detail, but would be glad to do so - if you like. Bernie Eskin

Bernard,

Hi! It was a pleasure meeting both you and your wife on Saturday at the USS Providence "Family Day".

I hope that you had a smooth and traffic free ride home.

Also, I wanted to send you a few photos from Saturday. I can print
higher resolution photos and send them by mail or I could send a higher resolution version of any of these images.

I will be in touch soon.

Richard
